WEEKEND RECAP GROUNDWORKS
Tampa, Florida
Raymond James Stadium became a brutal Spartan playground this past weekend, as thousands of fired-up athletes stormed the iconic home of the Buccaneers for the Stadion 5K. The infamous stairs were the ultimate adversary, with racers grinding through bleacher climbs and battling stadium obstacles, all while the legendary pirate ship and animatronic parrot bore witness to the suffering under the Florida sun. This special Honor Series event pushed every Spartan to their limits in a fast-paced, high-octane test of pure strength, agility, and sheer willpower against steel and concrete.
Carcassonne, France
The picturesque Lac de la Cavayère, a Spartan stronghold for eight years, transformed into a Trifecta weekend for the first time ever, drawing a massive 7,000 warriors to Carcassonne under a mix of sun and clouds. Don't let the stunning lake and green hills fool you; the course ruthlessly utilized natural elements to forge new, brutal obstacles from the unspoiled landscape. In the elite ranks, Julien Bernes and Inès Thévenod Mottet conquered the fiercely competitive first stop of the France National Series Sprint, while Édouard Hervy and Katrine Haaland Leveraas owned the punishing Beast.
Henley on Thames, United Kingdom
This wasn't your average mud bath; 18,000 Mudders converged on a course that traded muck for a brutal 551m of elevation, demanding pure grit on very hilly and technically challenging terrain. The absolute showstopper was the debut of Europe's Toughest Infinity, a grueling 12-hour dawn-to-dusk challenge where athletes relentlessly stacked laps, with the top warrior racking up an incredible 98 kilometers. Amidst this ultimate endurance test, the inspiring Adaptive Athlete Team Bea conquered the Infinity course using the paratrekker chair, while the 5K & 15K faced fresh torments like Brain Freeze and Mineshafted.
Madrid, Spain
San Agustin del Guadalix tested Spartans before they even hit the start line, with heavy pre-race rains forcing last-minute festival changes, but over 4,500 warriors still charged headfirst into what felt like a brand-new, unpredictable course. Saturday then unleashed its own fury: relentless downpours transformed the familiar venue into a slick, muddy battlefield and demanding every ounce of grit from those battling the elements. Sunday brought the Spanish sun and fierce elite competition, with Pau Nacenta & Jessica Velasco dominating the National Series Super, while Patrick Laqueche & Carla Mochila conquered the Beast.
