Spartans,

As we celebrate Veterans Day on Monday, I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible contributions and sacrifices of our veteran community—especially the ones here at Spartan.

Veterans aren't just part of the team; they're part of the backbone of everything we stand for. I've had the privilege of working with some of the hardest, toughest, most resilient people, and let me tell you, there's something uniquely relentless about those who've worn the uniform.

One lesson I'll never forget happened years ago during one insane race.

I was pushing through brutal terrain, and I could feel myself hitting a wall. Then I looked to my left and saw one of my buddies—a former Navy SEAL—pushing just as hard, with zero complaints, zero hesitation.

I could see it in his eyes. This was a guy who'd been through hell and walked out the other side stronger and more determined.

I realized then that my struggle was nothing compared to what he'd faced. And it's because of people like him that we have the freedom to do what we do every day. That moment changed how I approached challenges.

Our veterans bring that same grit and determination to Spartan. They don't just perform; they lead by example, holding us all to a higher standard.

I'm inspired by how they motivate us to be tougher, work harder, and go beyond what we think is possible.

So today, I want to thank every Spartan Veteran for your service, sacrifice, and leadership. You remind us daily of what it means to be unbreakable.

Let's not just remember our Veterans today; let's strive to live by their example every day.

Thank you for showing us what it means to be Spartan.

Here's to The Hard Way,

Joe

GIVE BACK THIS VETERANS DAY

Veterans Day is about more than remembering our heroes — it's about action. This year, we've handpicked five impactful non-profits dedicated to supporting Veterans and their families. If you're looking to give back, these organizations provide powerful ways to make a difference.

  1. Burpees for Vets
Spartans across the country complete one burpee for every dollar they fundraise. 100% of funds go to Veteran non-profits, and Spartans who fundraise at least $250 get a free race code for any 2025 Open Heat.
  2. Oscar Mike Foundation
Proceeds from Oscar Mike Apparel Sales provide support to injured Veterans looking for an opportunity to stay active.
  3. Mission 22
Mission 22 provides support to Veterans and their families to promote long-term wellness and sustainable growth.
  4. Operation Enduring Warrior
Honor, empower, and motivate our nation's wounded military and law enforcement Veterans through physical, mental, and emotional rehabilitation.
  5. Medal of Honor Foundation
This foundation preserves the legacy of the Medal of Honor through education, outreach and recognition.

You Ask, Joe Answers
Q: Hey Joe, I'm stuck in a rut. I know fast food, processed foods, and sweets aren't good for me, but I can't seem to rid them from my diet. How can I quit?
- Jill P.

A: Hey Jill, You're hooked on junk food because your brain is wired to want it. Like with any addiction, quitting cold turkey shocks your system and gets you real results fast. It's brutal, but it makes you stronger.

Break the habit today, don't drag it out with "tapering off" nonsense. Plus, going cold turkey forces you to confront the cravings head-on and prove you can resist them. Make the decision now, and commit to it like your life depends on it. Because it does.
