| | MY THOUGHTS | Israel Brings Justice to America's Families | Good morning. In April 1983, a suicide bombing targeted the U.S. embassy in Lebanon, killing 17 Americans. Later that year in Lebanon, in October, trucks filled with explosives were driven into buildings housing American and French peacekeepers, killing 241 U.S. service members. | For decades, one of the masterminds behind these horrific attacks, senior Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Aqeel, remained on America's most-wanted list. Over the weekend, Israel brought him to justice, killing Aqeel as part of their ongoing efforts to neutralize the Hezbollah threat on their northern border. | Since October 7, 2024, it's become increasingly clear: Israel's enemies are America's enemies. The small democracy in the Middle East has been systematically taking out key figures who pose a threat to both nations, one by one. | Yet, the narrative remains divided. The Left often portrays these enemies—who openly call for America's destruction—as victims. Meanwhile, some on the Right argue that America has no stake in Israel's fight. | Both views are wrong. Israel's enemies are our enemies. And with every strike, Israel brings justice not only for their people but for the families of the Americans who've suffered at the hands of these terrorists. | |

| | | MEDIA | Are Republicans weird? | | The mainstream media excoriated JD Vance for being "weird" based on previous comments about "childless cat ladies" Democratic peculiarities, including those from the Biden administration, are often overlooked Both parties have "weird" members, though the GOP is more frequently demanded to self-reflect
| The story | Since Vice President Kamala Harris nominated Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) to be her running mate, Democrats have opened a new line of attack, accusing Republicans of being "weird." This insult was mainly aimed at Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) for previous comments he made on Tucker Carlson's show, remarking that many areas of life in the US are run by "childless cat ladies." | Many in the media took offense at this tongue-in-cheek remark by Vance, accusing him of denigrating women who cannot have children. Vance, soon after his remark resurfaced and went viral, clarified that he was not denigrating women who want to have children but struggle to. | Nonetheless, these attacks persisted, leading to Vance finding himself 10 points underwater in his favorability rating. | Popular left-wing comedian John Oliver even dedicated a segment of his show, Last Week Tonight, to pleading with Republicans to "stop being so f***ing weird." Oliver called out many GOP candidates on the ballot this year for being "weird," ranging from Minnesota Senate candidate Royce White to Virginia Senate candidate Hung Cao. | And just recently, North Carolina gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson came under fire for allegedly calling himself a "black Nazi" on a pornographic website's message board over a decade ago. Donald Trump disinvited Robinson from a rally over the weekend in Wilmington, NC, because of these weird allegations, which Robinson firmly denies. | Identifying eccentric behavior in any political candidate is not inherently bad, but the picture painted by the media is convincing Americans that the Republican Party is a freak show while Democrats are completely ordinary. | Weird Democrats | Kamala Harris' running mate, Tim Walz, is one Democrat who has been accused of being "weird" by political conservatives for mandating tampons in boys' bathrooms, starting as early as fourth grade during his time as Minnesota's governor. | For years, conservatives have drawn attention to the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, which the media and top Democrats have celebrated. | Known as the "Squad," these lawmakers have promoted policies like defunding the police and abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and have expressed sympathies with terrorist groups that slaughtered innocent Israelis. | These lawmakers, while often majorly out of step with the American public, are not considered to be a fringe by the mainstream media, but rather a much-needed voice in the party. | Additionally, President Joe Biden has staffed his White House with men like Sam Brinton, a former Department of Energy employee who became famous for wearing dresses and stealing women's luggage from airports on more than one occasion. | This is in addition to the current administration hosting an LGBT event featuring a giant pride progress flag perched above the White House lawn, with transgender-identifying individuals flashing their fake breasts on video. | The event was sponsored and paid for by the American taxpayer. | Further, the Biden administration caught flak for promoting the "Transgender Day of Visibility" on Easter Sunday this year. Many of the Democrats' top brass released videos promoting the day, likely only celebrated or known about by a small fraction of the American public, while they stayed silent on mentioning the most important day on the Christian calendar. | Why it matters | Some conservative pundits argued that eccentric and "sycophantic" House and Senate candidates cost Republicans the 2022 midterms. GOP candidates like Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania, Kari Lake and Blake Masters in Arizona, and Don Bolduc in New Hampshire all lost their races in winnable elections. | While the reasons for Republicans' lackluster performance will continue to be debated, Democratic attacks often focused on the candidates' rhetoric and personality, not always their policy proposals. | Neither political party has a monopoly on "weird" politicians — there are plenty to go around on every side — but the mainstream media's insistence that Democrats are the party of normalcy is simply untrue. | |
