It's Been Almost 6 Months💔

Hi there... It's been almost 6 months since my Boxer Flip passed. It Feels Like Just Yesterday It  feels like it was just yesterday that it happened. My heart still sinks when I walk past the area where Flip's bed used to be and then, the sudden realization that he's gone hits me.  No One Talk About The Grief The flood of emotion can be overwhelming. Not many discuss the depth of grief that losing a pet can bring.  I haven't experienced loss like this before and it's taken me by surprise how much it has affected me.  Flip was a constant presence in my daily life during a pivotal decade in my life.   What I've Been Doing To Cope   1. A Daily Reminder. I keep Flip's ID tag with me, and I've recently attached it to the key I use at the animal shelter. When I'm there, opening a kennel with that key serves as a continual reminder of Flip and the purpose behind my actions. It reinforces my belief that the dog I'm about to spend time with deserves to have their story told, just like Flip did.   2. A Big Project. I've been working on something big that I'm really excited about. It's a meaningful way to honor Flip. However, we're not quite ready to make the full announcement yet (hint: it's going to make an even bigger difference for dogs!). But he harsh truth is our dogs don't live as long as we hope so we really need to celebrate every moment!   In memory of Flip and all the cherished pups who've crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈, please shower your dog with extra affection, start celebrating their birthday and even their half birthday, take time to go on walks, play fetch and enjoy every moment.
