For President Trump, it’s a chance to change the dynamics of a race in which polls show him behind. Joe Biden must navigate the dangerous waters of sharing a stage with Mr. Trump, a former reality-television star with a flair for showmanship and a willingness to disregard the facts. |
Chris Wallace of Fox News will moderate, focusing on six broad topics: Mr. Trump’s and Mr. Biden’s political records, the Supreme Court, the coronavirus, the economy, race and violence in cities, and the integrity of the election. He’s promised to enforce the debate rules, but has said his job does not involve fact-checking the candidates. |
The debate will run for 90 minutes, without commercial interruptions, beginning at 9 p.m. Eastern time on all the broadcast and cable news channels.
