[Sandara-Park] [SandaraPark_Forever] im back.ate emz,ill pray for him

For Sandara Park, `Krung Krung' also means success

By WALDEN SADIRI

Director Joey Reyes clarified last Thursday at the last presscon of
Star Cinema's "Can This Be Love" that he never described
Sandara "Sandy" Park as a "media whore." He only pointed out that
Sandara simply knows the importance of media in her career.

It is understandable that she's loved by the media. Besides being a
foreigner (Sandara is Korean)--which easily arouses one's curiosity,
her penchant for uttering wacky and witty remarks amuses a lot of
people.

During the presscon, she casually commented that the trailer of her
movie was funny and that she looks "pangit" in it. She went on to say
that she doesn't have beautiful shots in the movie.

Since she entered local showbiz, Sandara has shown a natural knack
for comedy. Her antics on and off camera have even earned her the
nickname "Krung Krung" which she has gotten used to.

But does "Krung Krung" insult her at all?

"It depends. If it's my friends or people who already know me, it's
okay. It means cute, unique and weird. But if it's other people, they
could say it to mean as I'm crazy," she explained.

Joey Reyes even attested that Sandara's nickname is what makes the
actress popular and very lovable. More than just being a fun person
to be with, the director added that she is a very professional
actress. He said that even if she came from a taping that lasted till
the wee hours of the next morning, Sandy would still be present in
the set -- even if she's running a fever.

"And unlike today's younger generation, Sandy keeps her words!" notes
Joey.

Sandara then returned her director's compliment by saying Joey is
like them, "bagets."

"It is fun to work with him...I didn't have a hard time beause he
would just show me how the scenes should be and I would do them the
exact way he liked them to be," she said.

Sandara will only be in the country for a week for the promotion of
her film "Can This Be Love" with Hero Angeles, Joross Gamboa and
Roxanne Guinoo. Her return was also prompted by a promise she made to
her fans that she would come back soon. But after her promo guestings
and the movie's premiere on April 26 at SM Megamall Cinema 10, Sandy
will be flying back to Korea. This time, she would be gone for four
months to take singing lessons in her country.

In "Can This Be Love," Sandara Park is Daisy, a Korean exchange
student in the Philippines studying English. During her stay, she
begins to enjoy the Filipino culture and she falls in love with the
country. In the process, she meets Ryan (Hero Angeles), a typist in
the University Belt, whom she would grow to like more than a friend.
Romance starts to blossom between them--all unfolding in a serious as
well as hilarious manner.

Star Cinema insiders says that moviegoers will be treated to a lot
of "pakilig" scenes in the movie, what with two love teams--Hero and
Sandara and Joross and Roxanne--in the cast.

Sandy also describes the movie as being close to her heart because
she and Daisy have a lot of similarities. According to her, they are
both lovable and friendly.

Unfortunately, in real life, Sandara and Hero have been reported to
be having some "tampuhan" even before the latter left for Korea. When
she arrived, Hero wasn't even one of the few persons she called up.
And when asked if she would visit Hero who was hospitalized, she said
she wasn't sure, saying it would depend on her schedule.

Their "tampuhan" has already raised speculations that it would not be
good for their upcoming movie.

She describes their relationship as, "may nabuong friendship.
Sometimes I'm confused because on camera we are lovers but off camera
we are just friends. Soon, magkakabati din kami. It should not affect
the movie because kahit ako kinikilig sa love team namin ni Hero and
also that of Joross and Roxanne."

Sandara, since her SCQ days, has gone a long way in her showbiz
career. She has added a number of TV shows to her credits an actress.
She's one of the most watched characters in "SCQ Reload." Then she
recorded the song "In Or Out" which became a hit immediately, did a
TV commercial for a shampoo and appeared in "BCUZ Of U."
